Former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne offers his take on what constitutes the perfect city in the Wall Street Journal. To him, the ideal city is one that’s approachable yet big enough to guarantee anonymity, where the streets are safe and the people are unpretentious, with plentiful public parks, plazas, open waterfronts, and other public spaces, and with downtown neighborhoods that don’t empty out at the end of the workday.
