If you are on the go with a web enabled phone you can point its browser to mobile.orbitz.com for all kinds of information. Just viewing doesn’t require a login but if you create a login you can then post tips if you find something useful about a certain airport.

Currently it only supports US airports but should be helpful for domestic flights. You can get information about flight status, local hotels and weather. Definitely worth book marking in your phone.

You can now get updates from Orbitz via text message as well. They provide a whole guide for how to operate the text message service: Orbitz SMS Guide.

We start off 2008 with new rules for traveling safely with batteries. From Safetravel.dot.gov

Spare batteries are the batteries you carry separately from the devices they power. When batteries are installed in a device, they are not considered spare batteries.

You may not pack a spare lithium battery in your checked baggage

You may bring spare lithium batteries with you in carry-on baggage – see our spare battery tips and how-to sections to find out how to pack spare batteries safely!

Even though we recommend carrying your devices with you in carry-on baggage as well, if you must bring one in checked baggage, you may check it with the batteries installed.
